A month ago New Hope Center began renting a new
facility and moved. It was difficult to say goodbye to a place where we spent
almost four years. The previous location served more than 100 orphans and left
lots of good memories with numerous people and activities behind. At the same
time the new place provides us with new opportunities to serve orphans.
Now we can train orphans in ways that can help them
professionally in the future. Instead of one big room, the new location has
several smaller rooms that are equipped as a hair salon, a computer training
room, a sewing and design room, and a professional kitchen. We’ve already had a
group of orphans come several times to try out different professions of their
choice.
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
Kolya and Sergei are learning hair cutting and
styling. They had never thought about learning this profession before. Now they
are very exited about what they are learning. Under the guidance of a
professional hair stylist, they have already made stylish hair cuts for one
another and are now getting
more experience helping others to
look great!
Yulya and Denis are learning how to cook salads, fish,
meat, and even make desserts! Both Yulya and Denis are happy that they tried
this profession. Now they want to enter a two-year program at a cooking trade
school and become chefs!
WITNESSING TO ORPHANS
All of our
trainers are highly-qualified professionals who practice what they teach daily
at work. The teachers love their professions and pass this love on to their
orphan-students. After two hours of classes all trainers and students get
together to eat what the cooking class has prepared.
There is prayer,
tasty food, sharing life situations and Christian values, smiles and fun.
During the few hours at New Hope Center the kids feel that they are not
orphaned. They feel love, care, and God’s grace. They always want to come back
again the following week!
PRAISE AND PRAYER
We praise God for this great new place of ministry
and service to orphans, for wonderful teachers who share their skills and love
with orphans, and many partners who make this ministry possible. Please join us
in prayer for more partners to help us expand and offer PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
not only to more orphans from other orphanages, but to older orphans who
already aged-out from orphanages, as well.
Many of them are currently unemployed and need to learn a professional
skill to get a job
